Plaza Playacar
Get out of the October rain and check out some of the great shopping that exists in Playacar. Wares you'll find here include jewelry and clothing from Mexico and the Caribbean, as are handmade goods and trinkets. The center also has several restaurants if you need a quick break from shopping.
Scuba Caribe
One place where the rain doesn't matter is under the surface of the warm late summer waters. Scuba Caribe has a base in Playacar and offers diving experiences along the Riviera Maya. The office is located right on the beachfront with easy access from the shoreline hotels and gives divers access to over 10 different local underwater sites. There's even a "bubblemakers" course for kids that teaches the basics of scuba.

If scuba isn't in your thing, you can still enjoy the amazing underwater sights of Playacar by snorkeling in its pristine waters.
