What's the Weather like in Playacar in July

Once a small fishing town, the resort of Playacar in Mexico, a southern Playa del Carmen suburb in Quintana Roo, is today a luxury holiday community. It is complete with hotels overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Cozumel, beachfront activities and some of the finest restaurants in the country.

Temperature

The high heat continues here throughout July, with an average daily temperature of 28°C (around 82°F), making this month one of the hottest of the year. The lows for the resort this month drop to a still-nice and warm 26°C (about 78°F), while the highs jump up to a very steamy 32°C (around 90°F). Definitely be sure to pack your short-sleeve shirts, shorts, capris and flip flops for the beach to stay cool in the heat of the day. A light jacket or sweater isn't necessary this time of year, although you might want to consider a rain jacket or poncho.

Rainfall

This month is part of Playacar's rainy season, but compared to June, the average rainfall actually drops slightly, with 109mm of rainfall expected in July. The rain falls over 12 days in the month, so more than likely you'll experience a rainy day or two during your visit. Thankfully, the rain showers are strong but short-lived, so you won't miss too much time outside.

Average Sunshine Hours

You can expect about 10 hours of sunshine during the day this month and a 10 percent chance of a sunny day. The chance of rain on any given day is 22 percent, while the chance of a cloudy day is 19 percent. The wind has died down too this time of year, with only a 5 percent chance of a windy day.

Average Sea Temperature
