What's the Weather Like in Aruba in October

By the time we reach October, Aruba is experiencing not only the end of summer, but also the beginning of the peak rainy season. This means that the weather can be very changeable, so make sure you keep an eye on the weather forecast at all times. It could be the difference between an enjoyable day and one which is completely washed out, so use the forecast to plan out your activities on the appropriate days.

Temperature

The average daily temperature for Aruba in this month is 29°C, just as it has been for the duration of the summer period. This also means that you can expect the normal average highs and lows, reaching up to 31°C and going down to 26°C. All this is pretty much par for the course from May all the way through to this month. However, one thing has made a big change, and that is the amount of rainfall you can expect to receive. Around 8 days of this month will be wet, experiencing some amount of rainfall, and 80mm in total will come down. That is 8 times the amount of rain that you would receive in June, for example, so it really does present a different type of climate. It is also a little cooler in some parts of Aruba, like Arasji.

Water Temperature

Tropical storms may also rear their heads in this part of the Americas, so be on the lookout for that. In the meantime, don't let that dissuade you from trying out the beautiful beaches and swimming in the sea. The average sea temperature during this month is 29°C, which seriously cannot be missed. There is something so luxurious about swimming in hot waters and seeing the coral reef beneath you. Just make sure that you pay attention to any weather warnings which may be in place flags or buoys may be used in the sea to highlight areas with a strong current or rough waves.

Hotels in Aruba in October

Club Arias B&B

Unlike most of the all-inclusive hotels on the island, Club Arias B&B allows you to experience a more independent experience. However, it still counts itself as a luxury resort, functioning as a private boutique hotel rather than the traditional Bed & Breakfast.

Beach House Aruba Apartments

There is a similar experience to be had at the Beach House Aruba Apartments. You can cook for yourself if you stay here, which is preferable for those with specific dietary requirements, and dine outside on your own terrace. Your room will front the ocean, and there is also a pool which the eight apartments share.

The Hidden Eden Aruba

The Hidden Eden Aruba is a tiny Bed & Breakfast in a lush enclave, providing affordable but comfortable accommodation. The ocean is just minutes away, but you enjoy the hospitality of a local Aruban family. The air-conditioned rooms also front onto a small tropical garden for your enjoyment, which is a perfect haunt for the warm October evenings.

Hit the Beach

Rodger's Beach

In the category of hidden gems, Rodger's Beach has to take the crown. This is a narrow strip of powdery white sand where fishermen from local areas anchor their boats in calm waters. It is very quiet here during the week, though on weekends locals often come with their families. You can certainly plunge into the 29°C sea waters, as a local dive shop offers snorkelling gear on rental.

Baby Beach

Then there is Baby Beach, a half-moon of sand which surrounds a calm lagoon. Families with children will enjoy the shallow water, and you can wade out for a long distance whilst still being able to touch the sea bottom. If you snorkel beyond this point, you will see colourful coral and beautiful tropical fish.

Bars and Restaurants

2 Fools and a Bull

At 2 Fools and a Bull you will experience what is surely a unique dining setting. Just 13 people will sit alongside you in the dinner party, but the aim of the host is to ensure that you are all friends by the end of the evening. A champagne cocktail begins the night, followed by a five course dinner. It is a little pricey, but promises something that you will not get anywhere else.

Carte Blanche Restaurant

A very popular restaurant for those who visit the island, Carte Blanche Restaurant also follows a small dining format, as again just 14 guests can sit at the curved table around the bar. The hosts ensure that you have an experience rather than just a meal, with different culinary combinations from various countries, including France and the Caribbean.

Linda's Dutch Pancakes and Pizza

A very exciting combination can be found at Linda's Dutch Pancakes & Pizza, which is decidedly more laid-back. Beautiful Dutch pancakes, light and airy, are served as main courses and deserts, and you can try a pizza if you are feeling a little less adventurous.

Things to Do in Aruba in October

Mi Dushi

If you have your sea legs, make sure to set sail on Mi Dushi. This 53 foot long vessel has four decks, and can be booked for small private parties. Tours on board the boat include music, an open bar, snorkelling, and feeding fish. You can take a morning tour, a sunset cruise, or an afternoon trip, all of which have their own unique charms.

Red Sail Sports Aruba

Red Sail Sports Aruba operate not just on the sea, but also on land. If you do not fancy a trip on a luxurious catamaran, then you can enjoy the October sunshine by travelling the island in a jeep. If shopping is more your thing, they can take you on a tour of some of the best boutiques too.

Frank's Place Watersport

Finally, Frank's Place Watersport is the place to go for something a bit more competitive. Water jet flyboarding is the newest activity provided by this group, in which you glide along the waters. You can also try parasailing, wave running, paddle boarding, wake boarding, and even charter your own private fishing boat. Banana boats and tubes compete with kayaking and waterskiing for your attention.
