The temperature is definitely heating up in May, which happens to be the first of the summer months. Aruba maintains a steady heat from here on in, which lasts right until the end of the summer in October.
Daily average temperatures of 29°C carry a potential high of 31°C, with lows only going down as far as 26°C. In other words, it's hot! This part of the Americas benefits from a sea position which means that weather patterns can be very easy to predict, including the winds which may buffer certain areas of the coast. Watch out for these when you are swimming in the ocean, which sees an average temperature of 28°C and is therefore very pleasant for a dip at any time of day. They can create a strong, rough tide, but there are plenty of secluded bays where you should be able to enjoy the sea even during times of higher winds. With long, sunny days, if you happen to miss out in the morning, you can always try again in the afternoon!

Around sunset, they will hatch and make their way to the waters. There are also a couple of famous trees here, believe it or not, which have starred in lots of ad campaigns!

Then there is The Dutch Pancake House, which serves exactly what it sounds like it would and will really get your mouth watering. They serve pancakes both as savoury main dishes and as beautifully sweet desserts, along with traditional Dutch recipes and a local twist or two. Elements Restaurant caters to vegan and gluten-free visitors as well as others, with glass walls allowing a stunning view out along the shore. You can also dine out on the beach itself with a special 6-course menu in the most romantic setting possible.

The Alto Vista Chapel
Why not take in some culture under the May sun? The Alto Vista Chapel is an interesting architectural building located on the hills of the north side of the island, which is also known as the Pilgrims Church. It stands in a very solitary location, but also boasts fantastic views of the surrounding area.
Donkey Sanctuary
Kids will love a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary. Donkeys were introduced to the island 500 years ago, and now that they are no longer needed as a means of transportation, far fewer of them remain. You are able to feed them with apples and carrots, as well as petting them throughout the day.
