The weather in August is the hottest of the year in Adeje, with the average temperature being 24°C. This is hotter than in July and is only matched by September so if you're looking to visit in the hotter months; this could be the month to take a holiday. Through the month, temperatures can reach a high of 27°C and a low of 21°C which means evenings are still beautifully warm.

It doesn't matter whether the temperature is at its highest or lowest, you will be able to enjoy days out at the beach and around the pool. Even though August is one of the hottest months in the year, it actually has a higher amount of average rainy days than the month before with 5 rainy days in the month and a very slight increase to 3mm of precipitation overall very dry.

The hours of sunshine slightly dip in August but you will still get 9 hours of sunshine which is more than enough to be able to go and spend a day at the waterparks or take a long walk along the beach. If you are going to the beach, you will be happy to hear that August sees the highest annual sea temperatures at 23°C. As well seeing the highest sea temperatures, you will also experience less windy days than in July with the chances of wind dropping from 65% in July to 60% in August.

Because August is one of the hottest months in the year, you should be guaranteed good weather throughout your stay in Adeje which is why hotels book up quite fast. This very popular holiday destination actually experiences mild weather throughout the year but with school holidays and higher temperatures, August is certainly a popular time to visit. It is also warmer than other location on the island such as Las Caletillas where it is 20°C in the same month.

One of the most popular hotels to stay in is the Colon Guanahani - Adrian Hoteles which is a 4 star hotel located just a short walk away from the Playa de Fanabe beach. It has reived a Certificate of Excellence and is very popular among couples as it is an adult only hotel. This hotel will be on your best experiences and will create some great memories. It has 154 rooms including double rooms and suites which all have air conditioning, minibar, satellite TV and a balcony. Amenities at the hotel include an outdoor pool, golf course, restaurant and evening entertainment.

If instead you want a cheap getaway then we recommend staying at the Apartmentos Tropical Park which is a 3 star hotel that is very popular with both coupled and families. You have a great time and will recharge your batteries during your stay here.

Things to Do

If you want to spend a couple of hours indoors to get out of the midday sun, why not go and get some gifts for yourself or for your family at the Centro Comercial Plaza del Duque which is a shopping centre located in Costa Adeje. In the shopping centre you will find a premium café lounge which is great for a light bite and a many designer shops. The building itself is very impressive and there is a Brigitte Bijou jewellery shop which sells some really nice and affordable jewellery.

Because the weather is so glorious in August, we're guessing you will want to spend a lot of the time outside. If you want to do something different than going to the beach though then go to the La Caleta National Park which has many choices of hiking trails to explore.

Hit the Beach

If you are a beach person, then you are going to love Adeje as it has many choices of beaches to visit. One of them is the Playa de Ajabo which is located in Callao Salvaje. It is a small but lovely beach that doesn't get too overcrowded as some others will do in the popular month of August. There is a very cute beach bar handy which has a good range of drinks and snacks, all at affordable prices. There are sunbeds available at a small price but you can always just use your beach towel to relax and enjoy the sun and sea.

Restaurants and Nightlife

If you're looking for home comforts and English food then we recommend eating at Fosters which is a British pub style restaurant located in Costa Adeje. Holidaymakers who eat at this restaurant usually find themselves visiting again during their stay because of the funny and friendly staff and its good atmosphere. It is also a great place to go for a drink and watch live football matches.

If you're after a bit of nightlife and evening entertainment then definitely head to O'Neill's Tenerife which is a bar and nightclub located on the Vernonicas Strip. Here you will find great beer, great staff and an even better atmosphere. If you don't go, you'll miss out on great cocktails and good music.
