What's the weather like in Praia da Luz in June
The first month of summer is an excellent time to visit Praia de Luz, because not only will you enjoy some fantastic summer weather on almost every single day of the month, but you will also be able to explore and wander to your heart's content, without too much in the way of crowds or noise. It's for these reasons that June is a popular month for those without children, away from the school summer holidays, and prices are cheaper as a result, because of this fact.

Beach time is definitely on the agenda now too, as the average sea temperature is a wonderfully warm 22°C, and there are many water-sports and swimming opportunities to enjoy on the resort's beaches. Not to mention, one thing you certainly don't need to worry too much about now is rainfall as levels have dropped by half since May. Whilst the month can experience 16mm of rain spread over 5 days, this is almost nothing at all and chances are you won't even notice it.

Praia Prahina
Praia Prahina beach is a great choice if you want to escape the crowds and go somewhere completely secluded. You won't find much in the way of facilities, as there is literally sea and rocks, but it is a wonderfully natural and quiet area to simply relax and enjoy the scenery. Do be aware however that this beach isn't supervised, so always keep an eye on children.

Things to do in Praia da Luz in June
Festival Med
Festival Med is one of the most popular events that takes place on the Algarve in June, when the nearby area of Loul comes alive with singing, dancing and plenty of traditional dishes and drinks. During this time of the year, stages are set up throughout the region, ready for local bands to perform alongside street stalls and restaurants serving great food for low prices.
Market
There are also many of handicraft street markets in the resort and the surrounding area, where you can pick up gifts for friends and family back home or a souvenir to remind you of your stay. If however you want to experience a traditional market, check out the Saturday fruit and veg market, where you can pick up some delicious produce for next to nothing, and also observe traditional life before your eyes.
Boat Trip
The temperate weather and plentiful sun means a boat trip is certainly the order of the day, and you will find countless companies who will put together a trip for you, usually picking you up from your hotel or the marina itself, and ferrying you around the many coves, checking out the coastline and having swim breaks along the way. Trips usually include lunch and soft drinks, sometimes including alcoholic drinks, but do check your actual itinerary. Actual Boat Trips are a very popular choice.
