Blue Bay,

Due to a fairly exposed beach break, Blue Bay receives distant groundswells, with the best swell coming from the southwest. Blue Bay is a Mecca for water sports enthusiasts, as well as being a prime surf spot; itâs great for windsurfing, snorkelling, diving and deep sea fishing. Land lovers meanwhile can enjoy hiking, table tennis, volleyball and tennis.
Climate
Blue Bay lies within the tropical zone and enjoys a hot tropical climate with a short dry season. The tropical heat is tempered by the surrounding seas, so temperatures never soar uncomfortably high. The west coast is the hottest and driest part of Mauritius, while the uplands maintain cooler temperature. Humidity levels however can reach high, and sometimes uncomfortable levels â" especially at night. Rainfall is pretty substantial throughout the whole year, specifically on high ground and on the southern coasts, which are most exposed to the southeast trade winds.
Summer
From November until May Blue Bay is hot and humid with an average temperature of around 29C, however, the trade winds blowing in from the southeast cool things down a bit. There is on average 7 daily hours of sunshine, and the sea water temperature is around 27C. The UV index is very high at 11, so cover up. These months see a minimum of one cyclone with a strong rush of wind that exceeds 120km/h. Usually, there is around four cyclones in this part of the equator during the summer season, and heavy downpour and turbulent weather is part of the course. Winter
From June to October Blue Bay remains tropically hot and relatively humid. The average temperature is around 25C, with a possible low of 23C. There is on average 6 daily hours of sunshine, and the sea water temperature is around 25C. The UV index has dropped to around 6, which is still high so be safe in the sun.
