In the Costa Blanca area of eastern Spain lays Villamartin, which are a
resort as well as a golf course. Villamartin is located
just inside the beaches of La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca and lays to
the south of Alicante on the Costa Blanca also
known as the White
Coast and is an hourâs
drive from the airport. The Villamartin development has grown into an eye-catching
Mediterranean village consisting of 1500 townhouses, apartments and villas.
Most of the population of Villamartin includes Western European expatriates who settled here and turned the village into a modern town, which consequently turned Villamartin into a popular tourist attraction and holiday destination. Villamartin offers several family friendly attractions including golf, water sports and go-cart tracks. Thereâs also a central plaza at the heart of Villamartin, built around a square lined with palm trees, which shelters African Ring Neck Parrots.
Many tourists flock to Villamartin as itâs close to three championship golf courses, including Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas. Villamartin is certainly the most famous and is considered the finest, too, as it hosted the Mediterranean Open in 1994. Villamartin is not just about golf though, even if you are not a golfer this resort has plenty to offer including sandy beaches and warm sunshine for most of the year.
Many of Villamartinâs beaches have been presented the European Flag for cleanliness, safety and provision of facilities for the whole family, which makes Villamartin all the more desirable for visitors seeking some relaxation in the sun. Villamartin offers accommodation facilities, mainly in the form of apartments, villas and townhouses. The main attraction however, is Villamartinâs weather as the resort enjoys 300 days of sunshine and an average temperature of 20 degrees a year.
Climate
Villamartin enjoys a pleasant Mediterranean climate and weather conditions most of the year making it a perfect place for the holidays or any other vacation. It has a privileged location and a superb mild climate with an average yearly temperature of 18-20 °C and benefits from more than 2,800 hours of sunlight every year. Because of its favourable weather and climate, Villamartin has fast grown into a famous tourist destination where the sun lovers can visit and enjoy almost 325 sunny days every year.
Summer
The summer season in Villamartin is typically very hot with very little to no rain at all. During a summer night the temperature rarely falls below 15 °C in Villamartin, while the average temperatures during the day will be mostly between 25 °C to 35 °C. However, due to the low humidity in the area the heat doesnât get unbearable.
During the months of June, July, August and September, the weather of Villamartin is usually very hot, where the average temperatures reach the high 20s during the day time. There is nearly no rainfall except the month of September and in August the Villamartin weather can become unbearably hot where the temperature reaches 40 °C or more during some days of this month. The sea temperatures during these months also tend to be very high if the tourists are planning a visit to the coast in Villamartin. Most of the days in these months are clear and sunny while it gets warm to hot during the nights.
Autumn
The autumn months are considered a good time to visit Villamartin as the weather is mild and sunny. There are still some pleasantly hot days to enjoy, thereâs a low chance of rainfall and pleasantly cool temperatures in the evenings. During autumn, the seawater temperature remains warm and inviting.
Winter
During the winter season, the weather in Villamartin tends to be very mild in comparison to the northern Europe, as most days in Villamartin are clear and sunny in winter, with little rainfall. However, the Villamartin weather in winter is quite unpredictable and it can vary greatly; being over 20 °C one day while getting down to 6 °C making it feel very cold. November is the wettest month, while in December, January and February there is little rain with the days mostly being sunny and clear but the nights can get cold.
Spring
The temperatures in Villamartin tends to pick up during spring. From March onwards the days are usually clear, bright and sunny. The evening temperatures can still be cool with the chance of rain. The seawater temperature stays chilly until May, then starts to increase rapidly warming up nicely come the summer months.
