What's The Weather Like In Varadero In June
Rain
June brings with it higher temperatures and higher rainfall falling over more days than last month. Rainfall and temperatures are on the increase with the advent of the hot wet season.
Due to its nearness to the equator, daytime temperatures don't vary a lot here but the night time temperatures are starting to get higher and quite humid at night. The average rainfall has increased to 30mm and it will fall over 14 days with half the month seeing some rain.
The rain doesn't last long but the higher temperatures mean the humidity is rising. With the higher rainfall and higher humidity you might prefer to find activities away from the beach.
Temperature
Average temperatures are continuing to rise and it has reached 26°C and will increase slightly more by the end of the month. This average sits between the average high/low temperatures of 21°C and 31°C. This high temperature will remain for the next few months with night time temperatures slowly increasing.
Humidity
Average humidity has increased to 80% and on wet days it can even creep higher into the 90s making any outdoor activities hot and sweaty.
Sea Temperature
The temperature of the sea has been slowly rising since the low in February of 24°C to an average sea temperature of 28°C. It will reach its peak in August at 30°C before it will start to drop towards the end of the year.
Sunshine Hours
The sunshine hours have dropped slightly to 8 hours a day with the increased storms causing the drop in hours.
There will always be foggy days in Varadero and in June you can expect to see 20 foggy days and this will remain stable until September when they start to lessen.

Lai Lai
For great Chinese food at reasonable prices try Lai Lai open from 12 noon to 11pm every day of the week. The place is air conditioned, with outdoor seating and a take away service. There is also a place for smokers. It is in the old Chinese Embassy and serves authentic Chinese food prepared from fresh local produce. Dishes are generous and the chicken dishes are recommended by many.
Pizza Nova
For all things Italian visit Pizza Nova located in Plaza de Americas. The Carbonara pasta is popular but they are renowned for their pizzas and garlic breads. It has had a name change to Pizza Piazza but the food is just the same as before.
Things To Do In Varadero In June
Cayo Blanco
A full day excursion from Varadero to the Cayo Blanco is a great way to spend time while on holidays here. You will leave from the Chapelin Marina in a catamaran and then have some time for snorkelling before you reach Cayo Blanco, a deserted island with white sand beaches. You will enjoy a great seafood lunch with live Cuban music and then have time to relax on the beach or swim. On the boat trip you can relax on the nets or just sit in the shade and take in the sights as you cruise to the island. On the way back you will go the dolphinarium and enjoy one of the daily shows. This day trip is free for children 6 years and under.
Havana Colonial Tour
Another interesting day trip is to Havana, the capital of Cuba. The Havana Colonial Tour picks you up from your hotel and then takes you to see the history and architecture that makes Havana what it is today. The tour runs every day except for Sunday and leaves early in the morning. The tour takes you to the Presidential Palace and Revolution Square, Park Central and the Capitol as well as the University. Walk through the many historic plazas rich in history and Hemmingway. Follow his footsteps to the Bar Floridita, the La Bodeguita del Medio and then to the Hotel Ambos Mundos. Lunch is included in the tour and then you will have some free time to explore the markets and shops before to Varadero.
Iglesia de Santa Elvira
An interesting building worth a visit is Iglesia de Santa Elvira, an Old Catholic church that dates back to 1938 and is built of stone and timber giving it an alpine appearance. The bell tower is in a horseshoe shaped arch at the front. Everyone is welcomed to Mass on Sundays at 10:30am.
Cueva del Pirata
For some exciting night life visit the Cueva del Pirata that is a Cuban floor show with a pirate and buccaneer theme. The show is in a cave that transforms to a disco once the show is over. It is located about 1 kilometre east of the Hotel Sol Elite Palmeras and is only on Monday nights.
