What's The Weather Like In Varadero In July

Rain

July is the last of the good weather with the advent of cyclones and hurricanes next month in August. Rainfall is similar to last month but in July it will fall on fewer days with each being wetter. Towards the end of the month rainfall will ease slightly. Average rainfall stays at 30mm but it will fall on 11 days down from the 14 days of wet weather seen last month. The rain will arrive in storms that are soon over leaving hot and humid days.

This hot wet season can see the beaches becoming rougher with higher swells due to the changing weather and the increased chance of cyclones that will whip up the seas. The warm temperatures are still good for holiday weather but you may need to find activities away from the beaches at this time of year.

Temperature

The average temperature is stable at 26°C and the average high/low temperatures of 21°C and 31°C remain but the lows will increase from now until September.

Humidity

With the wet days seeing more rain, they will be more humid with average humidity still in the 80% range. The storms will leave the days sunny and fine with a good amount of sunshine to spend outdoors.

Sea Temperature

Sea temperatures continue to rise with average sea temperature this month of 29°C just one degree less that the high of 30°C expected next month. From August the temperature will drop slightly again each month to the low of 24°C in February March.

Sunshine Hours

The average sunshine hours have increased back up to the high of 9 hours a day due to the rain falling in short bursts on fewer days.

Fog

Expect to see some foggy days at all times of the year in Varadero and this month you can expect to see 20 foggy days. This will remain stable at 20 until September when they start to decrease.

Memories Varadero is a deluxe all inclusive resort for you and your family with lots of luxurious inclusions and fun for everyone. Choose from a room or a suite with air conditioning, terrace or balcony, satellite TV, mini bar and a bathroom with a bath tub. The suites have an additional living area. You are able to upgrade to receive additional services and extras for your holiday.

There are 4 pools with 2 for children, Jacuzzi, tennis courts, beach volleyball, non-motorised water sports and an introduction to scuba diving. Dance the night away at the disco or keep fit at the fitness centre. Dining here is an international experience with a Japanese, Italian, Creole, Mexican and Mediterranean restaurants. There are 8 bars to choose from, some open all day for a range of local and international drinks.

El Mojito

El Mojito in Santa Marta has fabulous mojitos and lobster dishes with great Cuban dishes to choose from. Open on Saturday and Sundays for late lunch and dinner. The seafood platter, fish soup, chicken dishes are all favourites but most people come for the grilled lobster and drinks.

Kiki's Club

For Italian food lovers try Kiki's Club for great pizza and pasta where every dish is presented in eye catching style. Open every day for breakfast to dinner with freshly made pizzas and calzones you can sit outside and enjoy the views and cool breeze.

Things To Do In Varadero In July

Parque Central

Located on Avenida 1 between Calle 44 and Calle 46 is Parque Central. This small park contains 2 monuments, to the National hero, Jose Marti and the Martyrs Monument. Next to the park you will find a large outdoor market where you will see all sorts of crafts and souvenirs. Just down from here is Parque de las 8000 taquillas (8000 cubicles) that has been transformed from a public baths, hence the 8000 cubicles into a shopping centre, Centro Commercial Hicacos. Here you can have an ice cream from the Coppellia Ice Cream parlour on the 2nd floor and then peruse the many shopping boutiques.

Big Game Fishing

For the fishing enthusiast there is the attraction of Big Game Fishing made famous here by Ernest Hemmingway. These 5 hours of fishing takes you a maximum of 3 miles off shore for 4 people. Pick up is from nearly every hotel in Varadero when your day starts. The Gulf of Mexico and the Straits of Florida are big fish migratory paths where you can catch some of the really big game fish such as white marlins, blue marlins, barracuda, wahoo, King Mackerel, Red Snapper, Tuna and Sailfish. The time of year will dictate which fish you could catch with barracuda all year, Wahoo and Dorado January to April, Tuna March and April, Red Snapper May and June, King Mackerel May to July and September and Sailfish in October and November.

Glass Bottom Boat Trip

Off the main beach you will be able to go on a glass bottom boat trip out to the reefs and to see the many fish and other marine life that lives in the Caribbean. There have been purpose made reefs here by sinking a variety of ships to create artificial reefs for marine life to live on and around. See your tour desk at your hotel and they will sort out a glass bottom boat trip for you.
