What's The Weather Like In Varadero In April
Rain
The dry season continues into April before the hot wet season starts in May with heaviest falls of 30mm and 40mm later in the year. Cuba and in particular, Varadero, has warm weather all year round and it is only the rainfall that changes from one season to another and the advent of hurricanes and cyclones during the height of the wet season.
Average rainfall for April is just 10mm that will fall on up to 5 days in short bursts from tropical storms. Storms will clear to fine sunny days ideal for swimming, relaxing on the beach and partaking in various water activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling.
Temperature
This month the average temperature has risen to 25°C between the average high/lows of 20°C and 29°C. Nights are warm but not unpleasantly so and temperatures will increase towards the high of 31°C seen during the hotter wet season. The average humidity remains stable at 75% and will not increase until June where higher rainfall and higher temperatures mean more humidity.
Sea Temperature
Temperature of the ocean only varies only 6°C all year from a low of 24°C in February and March to 30°C in August. This month the average sea temperature is 25°C. Sunshine hour's average out at 9 for this time of year before it drops to 8 hours in June.
Fog
Foggy days can be expected in Varadero every month and this month you will see 20 foggy days that is around the average for the entire year with it varying from 17 days in November and 22 days in March.

Facilities here include a bar, BBQ, restaurant, swimming pool, car hire and evening entertainment.
Varadero Beaches For April
Gaviota Diving
The water here is so clear that diving is exceptional with visibility up to 30 metres in some places. The Gaviota Diving is at the Gaviota Marina off Varadero Beach at Punta Hicacos. They will teach you to dive then take you off the beach to the reefs to see the varied marine life living here. You can go diving all year round except during times of cyclones and hurricanes when the water is dangerous. You can also go and dive in the Saturno cave in the large flooded cavern.
Cuba Kiters
If you have a spirit of adventure why not takes a few hours out at the beach to learn to kite surf with Cuba Kiters. Learn with a small kite and board about the wind and how it affects your direction and how to control the kite with the small bar. Next is to use the full size kite with a harness and your body weight to manoeuvre the kite. Now it is time to get on the board and out into the surf and see how you go.
One past time for beach goers at Varadero is to collect the shells that wash up on the beach during wild storms at sea. A large variety of different shapes, sizes and colours can be found just on a short walk down the main beach.
Bars And Restaurants
La Gruta del vino
La Gruta del vino is one of the best places to eat in Varadero and is located in Josone Park. That café is in a cave and you eat by candlelight and the steak and lobster are excellent. Some night s a Cuban band comes to play to add to the ambience of the place.
Calle 62
Calle 62 is the place to go for reasonably priced drinks and great dancing. Enjoy a quiet drink in the afternoon or come after dark for live music and entertainment. Join the mix of locals and tourists with good service where you can dance indoors or go outdoors in to the street and party. Music is more salsa than rock by local bands performing live at the club.
Things To Do In Varadero In April
Ambrosia Cave
There are several caves in Varadero and the Ambrosia Cave in Varahicacos Ecological Reserve. There are more than 50 examples of pre-Columbian art that were discovered in 1961 in a small recess in the cave. There are local burial plots going back more than 2000 years and the main cave is more than 250 metres long with several interconnecting caves and passageways.
Jeep Safari Yumuri
Another great outdoors activity is the Jeep Safari Yumuri that will show you some great places around Varadero. This full tour lasts around 10 hours and you will see the amazing Yumuri Valley with sugar cane fields. Stop by Coral Beach for some snorkelling; visit the Saturno Cave where you can swim amongst the rock formations in the flooded cavern. Enjoy lunch at a Cuban ranch and then go for a ride up the Canimar River.
