What's the weather like in Valencia in November

Valencia is located on the south eastern coast of Spain, also known as the Costa del Azahar or Orange Blossom Coast. The bustling port city is popular with tourists all year round thanks to its typically Mediterranean climate, consisting of hot, dry summers and mild winters.

November marks the beginning of winter in Valencia as all signs of summer are left behind. The temperatures are much lower, with less sun seen than during the preceding months and a higher expectancy of rain.

Temperature

The month is one of the coldest of the year in Valencia, dropping a few degrees from October. The average daily temperature in November is 13°C however, this can rise to highs of 18°C on warmer days in the city. Temperatures tend to fall on an evening when the sun goes in. Low temperatures can drop to an average minimum temperature of 8°C in November. For this reason, it is recommended to pack some warmer layers or a jacket to wear on a night in Valencia.

Sunshine Hours

There is still a good amount of sunshine to enjoy in November though. Valencia sees on average 9 hours of sunshine per day this month and there's a 48% chance of a sunny day, which will make temperatures feel mild and pleasant.

Rainfall

November is one of the wettest months of the year in Valencia, beaten only by October. There is an average of 57mm of rainfall throughout the month. However, this still only amounts to a 24% chance of a rainy day, and any showers are likely clear up fast. Holiday makers should be able to enjoy many dry and sunny days in November.

November is a great time to visit Valencia if you want to explore the city outside of peak season. The weather is still much nicer than many parts of Europe and the beaches remaining open, albeit much quieter than at other times of the year.

Valencia Beaches for November

November is not the best time of the year to visit Valencia if your main reason for travel is hitting the beach. With cool temperatures and a chance of rain, the weather isn't perfectly suited to sunbathing and swimming in the sea. However, Valencia's beaches are beautiful at any time of the year and are definitely worth a visit if you're already in the area.

The Blue Flag urban beaches of La Malvarrosa and Las Arenas are both easily reachable from Valencia city centre by bus or car. But for a more natural beach experience, visitors can head further afield to the outskirts of the city. Here, they will find L´Arbre del Gos beach situated in the Albufera Nature Park. The rustic beach is lined with sand dunes and extends for 2.6 kilometres. The beach has a promenade with a cycle track that's ideal for bicycle rides, roller-skating or just taking a stroll.

For an exquisite evening meal or a special occasion, head to El Celler del Tossal, a fine dining restaurant near the Plaza del Tossal. The menu features authentic Spanish rice dishes, char grilled meat and fish that arrives fresh daily from the port of Valencia. A great wine list is also available.
