What's the weather like in Torremolinos in February
February in Torremolinos still marks the winter season, so the weather is still cool and the tourist season is not yet in full swingot even close, in fact. However, the weather remains reasonably warm and pleasant throughout the winter, with clear skies, making it a popular destination to travel to during the winter months. This resort town on Spain's sunny Costa del Sol, located near Malaga, is especially interesting for Brits seeking to escape dismal, chilly weather back home.
Temperature
February is a bit warmer than January, the coolest month of the year, and has an average temperature of 13°C. (That same average temperature was also recorded in December.) At night, the mercury drops to an average low of 8°C, which is chilly and will require you to put on a jacket if you want to head out for an evening walk. Afternoons, in contrary, are comfortably warm, with an average high temperature of 18°C. Both those temperatures tend to increase by about one degree in the course of the month.
Average Sea Temperature
Although the air temperature begins to increase ever so slowly, the sea temperature stays behind. It still averages 16°C, just like it did in January and will keep doing in March. This is as cool as the Mediterranean Sea ever gets in the resort.
Rain
February gets its share of rainfall, but all things considered, it's really not that much. The total amount is no higher than 49mm, which is ridiculously low compared with what other places in more northern parts in Europe get this time of year. There are 7 days with rainfall, which also means that there are 21 days without any rainfall whatsoever.
The possibility that any type of precipitation occurs on any given day is 29% throughout the whole montht doesn't change. This rainfall percentage has been the same since November; it'll start decreasing in April. The most common type of rainfall is moderate rain, which occurs on 45% of the days with rainfall. Light rain is quite common, too, occurring on 24% of those days. Other types that may be experienced are thunderstorms, drizzle and heavy, but being recorded on 12%, 12% and 7% respectively, they are much less likely.
Cloud Cover
Just as rainfall is at its highest this time of year, so is cloud cover. The percentage of cloud cover ranges around 42%, which indicates that the sky is generally partly cloudy in Torremolinos in February. That being said; there is still enoughlentyf room for sunshine, as the sky is clear or mostly clear 46% of the time. Overcast skies are only seen 18% of the time.
Average Sunshine Hours
A typical February day has 7 hours of sunshine on average. The fact that this is the annual average shows how very sunny this region actually is.
Daylight Hours
February is also characterised by increasing day length. While February 1 is the shortest day of the month with 10.22 hours of daylight, February 28 is the longest day with 11.22 daylight hours. This increase of precisely one hour implies that every day this month is 2.1 minutes longer than the day before.
All in all, the weather in February is quite enjoyable. It's might not to be the warmest period of the year, but there's still plenty of sunshine to be enjoyed. This is an ideal time of year to partake in outdoor activities, such as hiking and cycling. Museum visit are, of course, also always a good option to have.
