What's the weather like in Tenerife South in June
Temperature
June is the beginning of the summer months and sees average temperature slowly on the increase to an average daytime high of 23°C within the range of 19°C to 26°C. The average low temperature is rising along with the average high to a pleasant 19°C, ideal for evenings eating outdoors.
Rain
It is the beginning of the dry months where you would not expect to have rainy days while on holiday here with monthly average rainfall registering nil. This is remarkably less the winter high of 35mm falling over 5 to 7 days, still not enough to ruin a holiday even in the depths of winter. This is the beginning of the peak season and will see beaches and venues filling with tourists and locals like taking advantage of the warmer weather.
Humidity
The average humidity along with the higher temperatures rises to an average of 70°C which is the highest experienced at any time of year. This varies little from the low of 63°C seen in January.
Average Sea Temperature and Sunshine Hours
Ocean temperature has been rising from the winter low of 19°C to 20°C on its way to 23°C in August when the sea has its warmest temperature. Sunshine hours have stretched to 12 each day from a winter low of 7 to 8 each day.
Tenerife South Hotels in June

Choose your meals from the buffet restaurant and catch a show or entertainment at the Bar Hall. There are 2 swimming pools, one of which is heated all year round, large sun terrace with sun lounges and a children's area for the younger kids.
Tenerife South Beach in June
Try scuba diving at Playa de las Vistas. This is a wheelchair friendly beach and very popular with locals and tourists' for its facilities and amenities. This is a great beach for families' with showers and toilets, sunbeds and parasols on a clean and safe man made sandy expanse. The waves are subdued by a breakwater making it ideal for young children with smaller waves for safer swimming and fun. You can hire a Jet Ski, paddle boat or banana boat for fun on the waves.
The Playa San Juan is a clean and safe beach with life guards on the south west coast. A small fishing village is nearby and this is away from the more popular and busier beaches. It is sheltered from the prevailing Trade Winds and is still the small fishing village it was a hundred years ago but it is been modernised in keeping with the environment.
Bars and Restaurants
The Playa del Duque has a commercial centre with several bars and restaurants to choose from. The Bocoy Restaurant is just down from the beach and the La Nonna is in El Mirador and serves Italian and Mediterranean food including pizza and pasta, fresh salads and capriccios.
Acanto Café and Bar offers drinks from 10am to 3am on a lovely sun terrace and is ideal for intimate drinks after a day on the beach. It has a Moroccan flavour and a selective menu of bar food. It is at El Mirador shopping centre.
The Willows at Los Cristianos in the Apolo Centre serves a great tapas menu and Dutch and Irish fare. An expensive tapas menu sees tasty delights such as Goats cheese plate, melon and ham, garlic bread, Spanish Tortilla, scampi, meatballs and ribs as well as nachos and tuna.
On the Costa Adeje under the Club Atlantis Hotel is Carlos offering you exceptional customer service and an extensive menu including chicken dishes, beef dishes and fresh and dressed salads. This is a favourite with many visitors who return year after year.
Things to do in Tenerife South in June
Aqua Marina Diving is located next to Playa de las Vistas and it is a 5 star rated Padi dive centre. Choose from a number of dive sites that suit a beginner and the most experienced diver. See a variety of marine life and weird underwater volcanic formations formed hundreds of years ago. This is a Nitrox registered centre for the Nitrox experienced diver and if you are not, a half day course will see you fully qualified.
For an excursion with a difference try the night time Star gazing in the Tiede National Park with a guided trek. After a short trek you will be amazed by the vista of stars seen with no light pollution at 2000 metres above sea level. The trek is considered a low level of physical activity though trekking poles are recommended. Enjoy a 3 hour guided tour and you can be picked up at various locations including Beunavista, Los Silos, Puerto de las Cruz and La Orotavia.
Another alternative activity is to go on a Submarine Safari at Amarillo Golf. It is essential that you book as there are only 44 seats on each dive. Watch in awe as the sub settles on the sea bed and a diver interacts with a family of large Atlantic Stingrays. This is a great activity for the kids as they an experience ocean up close.
