What's the Weather like in Tenerife South in February

Temperature

A trip to Tenerife South in February is the perfect way to escape the cold, wet winters in northern Europe, as temperatures here remain pleasant all year round.

Daytime temperatures in February reach a high of 21°C (70°F) and only fall to around 14°C (57°F) in the evenings, so you'll find that on sunny days you'll be able to relax on the many beautiful beaches of Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje.

February has slightly warmer days on average than December and January the colder winter months. The average high temperature is warming up to a mild 22°C with night time lows dropping to an average of 15°C. Be ready for some rain in the wettest months from November to March but at only 5 or 6 wet days a month and just a 16% chance of a drizzle or a light shower.

The weather is becoming warmer as the month progresses and this makes Tenerife South an ideal location to spend a few weeks during Europe's coldest months. The days are warm enough to wander along the beaches and the night time lows are increasing and lessening the difference between the average highs and lows. Humity levels are a a steady 49% (comfortable) to 80% (humid) on average this month.

Rain

Average rainfall on those 5 or 6 days is as little as 5mm so even if it is wet it won't last all day and is more a nuisance rather than a downpour. December has the highest average rainfall with 35mm and it still is only wet on those few days.

Average Sunshine Hours

Ocean temperatures are still at a low of 19°C compared with the summer highs of a pleasant 23 to 24°C and with at least 9 hours of sunshine each day in February there is still plenty of time to explore the area around Tenerife South. In summer you can expect to see 12 hours of sunshine, higher average temperatures and no rain.

The average temperature of the ocean is 20°C that compares to the high in the summer months of 23°C. The sunshine hours have increased from January and averages out at 9 after the winter low of 7 hours in December. Summer sunshine from June to August lasts for 12 hours when you can spend half the day outdoors.

Wind

The chance of snow is highly unlikely, while wind speeds bring a light to fresh breeze, with strong winds a rarity.
