What's the weather like in Tenerife in November?
While the month of November is still a great time to plan a holiday to Tenerife North, visitors should be prepared for some cooler spells and plan on spending more time inside as the rainfall amounts begin to creep upward yet again.
Sea Temperature
While it has been possible up to this point to continue to swim in the Atlantic Ocean while on holiday, that is not the case as much anymore. Sea temperatures this time of the year begin to fall to an average of 19°C (66°F). This is significantly cooler than what they had been just a month earlier in October. For hardy vacationers, temperatures such as these may not be a deterrent, but many swimmers may want to stay out of the water or wear a wetsuit.
Temperature
On land, temperatures are sill very warm despite getting deeper into the year. Average afternoon highs are 24°C (75°F). These conditions mean that visitors will still be comfortable with the outdoor activities the northern half of the island offers. In fact, temperatures will still be warm enough to leave jackets in the room during the daytime hours and only bring them out at night. Average overnight lows fall to 18°C (64°F). This may be cool enough for some to need a light jacket once the sun goes down.
Rain
Rainfall amounts will also creep upwards at this time of the year with the northern part of the island averaging approximately 30mm of rain for the month. Much of this rain will fall primarily over the course of 7 days of the month. As winter begins to approach, much of the rain on the northern half of the island occurs at night leaving the days dry. In fact, the region will continue to receive up to 8 hours of sunlight per day which is definitely better than elsewhere in Europe at this time of the year.
