What's the weather like in Tenerife in July?
Summer officially arrives to the island in the month of July. The average afternoon high temperatures and overnight lows as well as sea temperatures continue to rise and the weather remains dry.
Temperature
Temperatures this month are not quite the warmest of the year, but they are close. Average afternoon highs for Tenerife North during the month are 28°C (82°F). Temperatures will remain quite warm even after the sun goes down with average overnight lows of 21°C (70°F). It is during this time of the year that jackets can definitely be left at home. Overall, the average daily temperature is a very mild 25°C (76°F) perfect for enjoying all the resort has to offer.
Sunshine Hours
Visitors may be able to leave the jackets at home, but they will need some sunscreen as the sun shines for an average of 13 hours every day on the island, this is the annual peak for sunshine. With so much sun, there is very little rain for the month on the northern half of the island. Rainfall amounts continue to be very low for the third month in a row and average only 10mm. All of that rain will fall in less than a day allowing for plenty of dry days to enjoy being outside.
Sea Temperatures
The sea temperatures are also now beginning to catch up with the warmer air temperatures and are definitely warm enough for a long swim. At 24°C (75°F), the water is more like bathwater. The warm waters combined with the warm air, make this time of year an excellent one to hit the beach. However, due to the warmer conditions, there will be a stronger sea breeze, especially in the late afternoon, making some of the seaside regions very breezy.
Current conditions on Tenerife North are always available as well as a 14-day forecast to help any visitor plan their perfect vacation.
