What's the weather like in Tenerife in August?
Rain
August in Tenerife North is the warmest month out of the year. It is also one of the driest as well and summer has officially taken root on the island. Much like the months before, rainfall is hard to come by on the island in this part of the year.

Wind and Kitesurfing
August in Tenerife North is one of the windiest times of the year, but visitors can take advantage of that wind to learn how to windsurf or kite surf. There are several schools located throughout Tenerife that will have visitors riding the waves like a pro in no time.
El Teide
This is also the time of the year for some of the hottest weather conditions so it is a good time to visit the highest mountain on the island. El Teide is not only the highest mountain on Tenerife, but is actually the tallest mountain in all of Spain. Tourists can choose to take the easy way up the mountain by cable lift or choose the harder way by climbing to the top. Keep in mind, however, that the second option requires special permission from the National Park Office in Santa Cruz. The view from the top is worth the trip with fantastic views of the entire island.
Our Lady of Candelaria
August brings the Festival of Our Lady of Candelaria, which is one of the most significant on the island. These festivals, found in most major cities on Tenerife, honor the patron saint of the Canary Islands. Celebrated for over a week, massive crowds gather for festivals, reenactments from the saint's life and feasts.
