What's the weather like in Tavira in July?

Temperature

During your July holiday in Tavira, part of Portugal, you can expect hot temperatures and barely any rainfall. This is the hottest month of the year, with an average daily temperature of 24°C (around 75°F).

The high and low averages are some of the highest for the year too, with the lows dropping down to only 18°C (about 64°F) and the highs getting up to a very warm 29°C (around 84°F). You'll definitely want to bring along short-sleeved shirts, shorts, sandals, and swimsuits, of course. During the hottest parts of the day, you may even want tank tops to stay cool while out in the sun.

Sea Temperature

Thanks to the warm temperatures, it's an ideal time of the year to hit the beach and splash around in the water, experiencing swimming in the Atlantic and watersports. The ocean temperatures hit the highest of the year this month, topping out at 22°C (about 72°F), plenty warm for getting in.

Sunshine Hours

With over 14 hours of sunshine each day, you'll have more daylight than night-time hours to soak up all the area has to offer. Bring along sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun's rays and avoid a vacation-ruining sunburn. The chance of sun on any given day is 67 percent and the chance of rain is only 20 percent.

Rain

Don't worry about bringing along an umbrella or poncho, as only a scant 1 mm of rain falls during the month of July. There are some July's where no rain falls at all.

Looking at extreme temperatures for the month, the highest recorded temperature for this part of Southern Europe was an unheard of 45°C (about 113°F). The lowest temperature dropped down to a chilly 12°C (around 54°F). Fortunately, you won't have to endure such intense temperatures, but rather, you'll be treated to pleasant and warm temperatures.
