Tataouine is located in the North African country of Tunisia. Due to the countryâs unusual shape along the coast, it borders the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Algeria to the west and Libya to the east. The country is known for its abundant beaches, sunshine and inexpensive, laid back lifestyle. There are many abandoned settlements surrounding Tataouine, featuring unground caves that block out the heat during the hottest days of summer. Tunisia has many different types of terrain.
