Beaches for February for Sunny Beach
Golden Sands Beach
In-keeping with February's romantic vibe, a deserted beach is the ideal place to head for solace and serenity. The lower temperatures during this time of year make for the perfect excuse to get out and explore, and jumping on the local bus to Golden Sands Beach, aka Zlatni Pyasatci Beach, is a great way to spend the day.
This is a very popular beach during the summer months, however it is popular with locals out of season too. The hot mineral springs make for a relaxing day, and you could head over to Varna when you've finished, which is only 17km away.
Restaurants and Bars for Sunny Beach in February
During the quieter months you may be tempted to head off to the nearby cities to enjoy a spot of bright nightlife whilst Sunny Beach sleeps, and in that case you will find much entertainment in nearby Bourgas. Here you will find a casino and plenty of restaurants to try. Alternatively, your hotel for the winter months will almost always have a restaurant or two on-site, meaning you can kick back and relax of an evening, without having to venture too far.
Ca D'Oro
Ca D'Oro is a great place to head whilst in Sunny Beach however, with a chilled-out vibe and live music to enjoy. The food is typically international, so there is something for all tastes.
Things to Do in Sunny Beach in February
Because Sunny Beach is a purpose-built holiday resort, there is little to really do during the off months of season, however that doesn't meant that you can't use it as a base and venture further out and explore the stunning Bulgarian countryside and regions around the resort.
Varna Necropolis
Varna is the largest city in the Black Sea region, and the third largest city in the whole of Bulgaria, and is certainly worth jumping on the bus to explore. Whilst this is also a tourist region, there is a little more open during this time of the year, and for anyone interested in history then Varna Necropolis is a must visit.
This site holds artefacts dating back as far as 4200BC and produced the oldest golden treasure in the world certainly somewhere to put on your hit list! Varna itself is also a very picturesque city and walking around during the cooler temperatures is a great way to spend a few hours.
Balchik
Just beyond the city you'll find the quaint seaside town of Balchik, which is home to a royal palace and botannical gardens. This is a great place to explore when the weather permits, and offers an insight into the country's heritage.
Day Trips Bulgaria
We mentioned the area around Sunny Beach as being particularly breath-taking, and the Black Sea Coast should certainly be explored out of season.
