Stoupa

Weather
Pure chilling at the Zervas appartments and Studios Stoupa.
We had room 7, you get what you pay for a basic studio with twin beds, we had a fridge, a walk in shower and two ring hob. Thats all we wanted as its so cheap to eat out.
The set up at Zervas is 6 apartments and two small studios, so not busy at all. The gardens are well looked after by a young lady who also does a towel change and clean up midweek.
The only negative comment is that the beds are a bit hard, so we used a couple of duvets that were in the wardrobe to soften them a bit.
As a base for Stoupa it was perfect. About a 4 minute walk to the beach, tavernas and restaurants. They stay open very late which is good as it stays very hot till well into the evening, so eating out at 8pm or later is good with the sea breeze.
Local wine is very cheap at 2.50 euros for 500ml, a large beer varies from 1.50 to 2.50 euros.
Dondoni's Taverna at the southern end of Stoupa beach does a good local white wine and the beer is a good Greek one. At that end there are some good restaurants. Our favourite was Akpotiani opposite Pefkos retaurant.
Could not fault anything, and the views at sunset are beautiful. There are a few trips available with the tour operators, but my advice is to hire a car and do it yourself, as you'll find it's a lot cheaper.
Messini ruins, Diros caves and Mystras are well worth visiting and of course Olympia, but get there early as the temperatures can make it uncomfortable walking around.
Temperature average for our visit to Stoupa from 7th - 14th July was 31-35 degrees Celsius.Holiday
Excellent, going for third time July 2014.
