St. Martin is a small island in the north Caribbean Sea that is a choice holiday destination among many travellers around the globe. It is easy to get to as many major airlines fly into the Princess Juliana International Airport, the main airport for the island.

On average, the daily high temperature tourists can expect in September is going to be 29°C (84°F). It's extremely warm but also very comfortable especially for swimming and other water sports.

September is the wettest month of the year followed closely by November. The average recorded precipitation is 130mm or 5 inches of rain. Visitors can still expect roughly 12 hours of sunshine per day regardless of the rain.

One of the main attractions (besides the gorgeous white sand beaches and the crystal clear blue waters) of St. Martin is Front Street in Phillipsburg on the Dutch side of the island. Main Street features all of the expected touristy shops but also has loads of great little shops where one can get amazing deals on gems and jewellery of all kinds.

All of the shops are Duty-Free which means that travellers can load up on goodies to take back home. The area also has a number of nice restaurants to try out; in particular Antoine's where guests will find the food as well as the service superb. Also, The Belgian Chocolate shop is a must see for chocolate fiends.

Captain Oliver's Resort Hotel on Oyster Pond offers the budget minded traveller great accommodations at affordable rates. The rooms are spacious and clean and include modern restroom facilities as well as a well stocked kitchenette for cooking meals.

The restaurant offers room service around the clock so one may never have the need to cook for themselves, but being able to make tea or coffee is a plus. The bar/lounge area is perfect for hanging out singing karaoke and having cold tropical drinks at night. As for the location, the rooms are overlooking the bay and the pool is practically right on the beach. As a big bonus, there is a little French store just down the street where one can get fresh baguettes, cheeses and meats for sandwiches.
