St. Martin or St. Maartin is a Caribbean island that is conjointly administered by the Dutch and French governments. The makes the island quite interesting as one half is distinctly Dutch while the other half is decidedly French. The whole island and the majority of its 70,000+ inhabitants speak passable English so communication is rarely a problem.
Visitors to St. Martin in November will experience a daytime high temperature of about 29°C (84°F), a temperature much the same the rest of the year on the island.
The night time low temperature to be expected is a balmy 24°C (75°F) with sensual ocean breezes to top it off.
November is perhaps the wettest month of the year on average, receiving approximately 130mm or 5 inches of rain in the month.
Visitors can still look forward to 12 to 13 hours of sunshine per day.
Since November is a bit wetter, it's a good month to just stay in the water and discover the natural beauty of the beaches and reefs that surround St. Martin. Dive Adventures makes that possible by supplying guests with the highest quality diving gear and the most experienced guides on the island. Whether one is an experienced diver or a beginner, Dive Adventures has the perfect package to meet any needs.
They offer instruction and PADI certification courses, as well. They offer half day and full day trips to various locations around the island.
Tijon Parfumerie is a little shop on the French side of the island that gives visitors the unique opportunity to create their very own perfume or cologne. It's a lovely idea and although one might think it would be difficult to choose from the 300+ essentials oils used to create a scent it can be great fun for the whole family. It takes around 2 hours to complete the process and once finished, visitors' new perfume/cologne is named and hand packaged along with a number of other Tijon products.
For an economical place to stay while on St. Martin, visitors should check out Princess Heights condo/hotel. The hotel is situated on a hillside overlooking Dawn Beach. They offer studio type rooms and suites one or two bedrooms and fully stocked kitchens. Each unit has its own balcony with spectacular views of the ocean and the surroundings. There is free internet access as well as free parking.
The restaurant offers room service and there are a handful of restaurants just within walking distance. Because there are only 15 rooms, the service is spectacular and guests can expect five-star service for a two-star price. It is advised that guests book rooms in advance as they sell out rather quickly.
