March on St. Martin, an island in the northern Caribbean that is partially of Dutch persuasion and partially French persuasion, is one of the busiest months of the year for tourism. Many visitors flock to the island to partake in the copious amounts of sunshine and the beautiful beaches and sparkling clear blue waters that are the hallmark of the Caribbean.
The average daily high temperature in March will be approximately 28°C (82°F). Visitors are advised to ensure that their accommodations have air conditioning so that they have some relief from the heat. It is also advisable to bring plenty of sunscreen along for the trip as the sun can be very strong.
The nightly low temperature will be around 22°C (72°F) which is very comfortable for cruising around the island and hopping from bar to bar enjoying the varied nightlife on offer on St. Martin.
Average precipitation will be around 51mm or 2 inches throughout the month. Rain showers are generally light and brief and can sometimes provide a nice break from the scalding sunshine.
On average, there will be about 9 hours of sunshine per day in March.
For visitors who are looking beyond the beach at other things to do while on holiday, St. Martin is well able to accommodate. Everything from golfing to horseback riding is available.
The golf course is located on the Dutch side of the island at the Mullet Bay Resort and offers up 18 championship holes for guest enjoyment. There are variable tee times throughout the day beginning early in the morning.
For visitors looking to do some horseback riding, Lucky Stables, also located on the Dutch side of the island, offer visitors tours of the Cape Bay area of the island. On the French side of the island, there is Bayside Riding Stables which is probably better equipped to handle less experience riders. Their riding trails are along the Le Galion Beach and the Marine Reserve.
