St. Martin is an island in the Caribbean that is one part French and one part Dutch. The island is basically divide in half with one side being run by the French inhabitants and the other side by Dutch inhabitants. Being in the Caribbean, it has a beautiful tropical climate year round however it is subject to hurricanes from time to time.

The average daily high temperature in January is going to be around 27°C (80°F) with plenty of sunshine and warm breezes.

Nightly low temperatures can be expected to be in the range of 21°C (70°F). Visitors are advised to pack light, airy clothing for maximum comfort during any visit to St. Martin.

Some of the most popular water activities include kite surfing, wake boarding, snorkelling and scuba diving. There are any numbers of touring agencies on the island that can arrange any and all of these activities. Most of the hotels can also arrange for equipment rentals and such.

For families with kids, there are also a number of other activities to keep them occupied such as go karts and paintball which are a relatively inexpensive alternative when they get bored with the beach.

As for accommodations, the Sol Hotel on the French side of the island is a top notch hotel providing guests with all the amenities that they could possibly hope for and a price that will satisfy nearly any budget.

The location is ideal for those who want a quiet holiday but who still want to be within range of where the action is. The hotel is near the beach and there are stores and restaurants in the general vicinity.

The rooms are equipped with kitchenettes so making a cup of tea or coffee is possible plus cooking light meals is also possible. The pool is for guest use only and there is free Wi-Fi available.
