June is the transitional month between the cooler dry season and the warmer wet season in St. Kitts. It is relatively dry, still, and temperatures have noticeably increased during the previous few months. Sunshine remains incredibly abundant, as is the case basically any month of the year.
May saw a peak in rainfall total, but June is much less rainy (not that May was that wet to begin with). Now, there is a total amount of rainfall of 80mm, not as much as the following wet season months, yet already a bit more than the months in the middle of the dry season. There are 10 days with rainfall, which, of course, means that there are twice as many, 20 days, without any precipitation at all. The chance of rain is never higher than 20% during this month. Light rain is by far the rainfall type that is most common, occurring on 56% of the days with rainfall. Moderate rain and thunderstorms occur as well, on 22% and 21% of those days respectively.
June is one of the two sunniest months of the whole year, enjoying 10 hours of sunshine per day on averagearch is the other month. This plethora of sunshine makes St. Kitts an ideal beach destination this time of year. 80% of all days are sunny.
Swimming in the Caribbean Sea is a popular thing to do as the sea water temperature averages no less than 28°C this month.
The afternoons in June can get nothing less than hot, the high temperature averaging 31°C. This is as warm as it gets on the island, a temperature that is also recorded in July, August, September and Octoberssentially all wet season months, in other words. At night, the mercury doesn't drop lower than the average low temperature of 24°C. The overall average temperature is 28°C.
