July is the first month of the wet season in St. Kitts, one of the two islands that make up the federal nation of St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean. Although this may be the wet season, the weather is still quite spectacular throughout. There is plenty of sunshine and temperatures are fantastic.

Each day in July has 9 hours of sunshine on average, which is a number that is recorded in most months. Only October is slightly less sunny, while March and June are a bit sunnier. St. Kitts is a phenomenally sunny destination all-year round. In July, there is an 80% chance that any given day is sunny, which is very, very high.

With an average temperature of 28°C, this is one of the warmest months. In fact, all months in the wet season are similarly warm. When visiting St. Kitts in July, tourists can bask in 31°C-high afternoon temperatures, hit the beach and go swimming in the Caribbean Sea, which has a bath-like temperature of 28°C this time of year. Even during the night, the temperatures remain more than comfortable, averaging 24°C.

This is the wet season, though, and the island receives 110mm of rainfall in total in the course of July. This makes it the fifth wettest month of the year, after October, September, November and May. It is important to understand, however, that 110mm of rainfall isn't all that much. There are 13 days with rainfall and 18 days without any, while the chance of rain is no higher than 20% on any given day. Three types of rainfall can be experienced in Julyight rain, thunderstorms and moderate rain occur respectively on 46%, 28% and 24% of those 13 days with rainfall.

While you might see a rain shower or two during your July vacation, there is still abundant sunshine and the temperatures are guaranteed to be extremely pleasant.

Where to Stay

July, although it falls in the wet season, is one of the most popular months to visit St. Kitts. Consider staying at Carivista, a magnificent private villa located right above the stunning Royal St. Kitts Golf Course. Handicapped accessible, the villa features a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and three en-suite bedrooms. There is also free Wi-Fi, a panoramic veranda and an infinity pool.

Located at Turtle Beach, Villa Alamandra is a beautiful family-style house offering exceptional vistas of the Caribbean Sea and St. Kitts' neighbouring island of Nevis. The villa has a master suite with high vaulted ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen with semi-circular kitchen island, a dining area, a veranda and swimming pool, a large living room and two guest bedrooms. The villa lies within easy walking distance from Turtle and Cockleshell Beaches.

One of the top accommodations in St. Kitts is the seafront Marriott's St. Kitts Beach Club. Guests can stay at one-bedroom or two-bedroom villas with living and dining rooms, fully equipped kitchens and private balconies. It features top-rated amenities, such as three swimming pools, a championship golf course, a full service spa, a number of restaurants and a gym.

Hit the Beach

July, as one of the warmest months of the year, is a popular month to visit St. Kitts and spend significant time on its beachesven despite it being the wet season. One of the best beaches in St. Kitts is found in Sandy Bank Bay, located on the southeast coast facing the Atlantic Ocean. This pristine beach is absolutely stunning, yet surprisingly quiet. This is because of the absence of any major hotels, restaurants and water sports centres. This is simply a gorgeous stretch of white sand flanked by imposing coastal cliffs and hills.
