Sousse in Tunisia has wonderfully pleasant weather during September. If you're looking for a place to enjoy the end of the summer season, Sousse is a great choice. Daytime average temperatures reach a high of 29°C (84°F) and only fall to 21°C (70°F) at night with an average temperature of 25°C (77°F) making it a perfect time to visit.

At El Khella, you'll get more than just a coffee shop. In addition to amazing coffee, try a "cocktail" of strawberry, orange and melon juice and save room for lunch. The seafood "brik" with salad and soup comes highly recommended. It's located just inside the medina overlooking the Ribat. This is not your typical "tourist" restaurant; get great Tunisian food that even the locals love.
Mio Mondo is a French & Italian restaurant that is sure to please you. Locals and tourists alike love Mio Mondo for the great food quality, amazing staff and affordable prices. Try the chicken and spinach lasagna or the seafood spaghetti but save room for dessert; guests love the ice cream and coffee.
The Roman Amphitheatre in El Djem is one of the best preserved in the area as well as the site for some of the filming of the movie, Gladiator. A magnificent example of Roman architecture, this coliseum can hold up to 60,000 spectators and was constructed between 230 and 238 CE. You can sit in the stands of this immense theatre in the classic Roman town of Thysdrus (now El Jem) and just imagine the destruction that was carried out to satisfy the masses. You might want to skip the guided tour and rent a car to take you through instead so you can see much more and at your leisure.
The fountain in Port El Kantaqui is worth a visit while in Sousse. The fountain dances to Tunisian music in the main square; times are posted on a nearby lamppost. Be sure to stop by in the evening when the lights accompany the fountain. It lasts about 30 minutes.
