Sousse in Tunisia enjoys perfect summertime weather during August. Sousse is a great choice when you're looking for a place to enjoy your summer. Daytime average temperatures reach a high of 31°C (88°F) and only fall to 22°C (72°F) at night with an average temperature of 26°C (79°F) making it an ideal time to visit.

The highest recorded temperature in August (2010) has been an incredible 38°C (102°F), with the lowest recorded temperature (2002) at 12°C (55°F). The weather holds at about 28°C from the beginning of the month into the third week. The warm weather begins to decrease after that and by the end of the third week, temperatures reach about 27°C and stay there through the end of the month. Cloud coverage picks up in August and the majority of the first two weeks of August are partly cloudy (mostly sunny) and sometimes rainy. The weather continues this way through the end of the month with many days being partly sunny (mostly cloudy).

The kids can join the exclusive entertainment programme and you can all enjoy the shows at night. When the kids are in bed, be sure to visit the night club. 

At the Royal Kenz Hotel, you'll enjoy comfortable rooms with a balcony. When you're hungry, be sure to visit La Fontaine which offers candlelit dinners in a warm oriental atmosphere. Another option is the Garden's restaurant where you can relax to the sound of water cascading in the background. There is also a buffet option for your dining pleasure. All restaurants on site offer traditional Mediterranean cuisine as well as some other favorites. For something lighter, you can head to one of the multiple hotel bars for drinks and snacks.

You can visit the pool or garden when you want to relax, plus try out the tennis courts, indoor pool, or mini golf. If you'd like to have fun on excursions, give water sports and scuba diving a go.

If you're looking for natural beauty and a family-friendly and low-key atmosphere, Djerba Beach is the place to go. Located south of Tunisia, the Isle of Djerba is known as the 'Polynesia of the Mediterranean'. You're in for a real treat when you see over 10,000 palm trees rising from the sea along miles of sandy beaches. If you enjoy windsurfing, the weather is perfect year-round on Djerba Beach. If windsurfing isn't your thing, try camel or horse riding, watersports, pedaloes, catamarans, kite surfing or the nearby golf course.

Le Bonheur is known for affordable prices and quality meals and can be found in downtown Sousse. The cuisine is traditional Tunisian and the lamb couscous is a must try. Save room for a good coffee and enjoy the excellent customer service.

At Coconut Island you can enjoy fabulous French food by an English speaking staff. You'll wan to call ahead to reserve a seat on the veranda overlooking the sea so you can enjoy the gorgeous ambiance. Try the local white wine and fish. There's an entrance directly from the beach or through the hotel El Mouradi, as well. 

A trip with Tunisia Safari is a must while in Sousse. You will be escorted by an English speaking guide as you explore the Sahara. The company picks you up at your hotel for your convenience. Port El Kantaoi is an attraction in itself. From here you can sail out of the harbor on a guided boat where you can sunbathe or enjoy the sights. You'll be able to admire great cabin cruisers and charter boats along the harbor. If walking from your hotel, be sure to make a trip in the evening to take in the gorgeous summer sky.
