The summer is still in full swing this month, with lots of visitors and the highs reaching the warmest point of the entire year. When visiting Sotogrande in August, you'll see highs that get up to 29°C (about 84°F). This part of southern Spain has an average daily temperature of 25°C (around 76°F). That's near perfect weather for being outside, spending time down on the beach or exploring the foothills around the resort.

The lows only get down to 20°C (about 68°F), but typically those temperatures come at night and in the early morning hours. You probably won't need a jacket or sweater for the evening hours, unless you'll be near the water where it's windier. Be sure to pack summer clothes like short-sleeved shirts, shorts, swimming suit, and sandals. You'll also want a good pair of walking shoes for seeing the sites.

Compared to July, the amount of rainfall goes up only 2 mm, with about 5 mm falling during the month. Don't worry about checking the local rain forecast. The month sees only about two days of rain, so you can leave the umbrella at home and expect amazing weather during your stay. You can anticipate around 10 hours of sunshine each day during the month, plenty of time to get outside. Pack the sunglasses and sunscreen to avoid a holiday-ruining sunburn.

The ocean temperature during this time is 22°C (about 72°F), a great temperature for being in the water, splashing in the waves. It's also a great time to experience some of the popular watersports in the area like windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. The highest temperature ever recorded in this area was a hot 37°C (about 99°F). The lowest temperature dropped down to a chilly 12°C (around 54°F). Fortunately, these highs and lows are rare; more than likely, you'll experience much more moderate temperatures.
