What's the Weather Like in Sorrento in September

Temperature
The average daily temperature is 21°C, three degrees below the annual maximum that was recorded in July and August, but comfortably warm by all standards. In the afternoons, the mercury rises to an average high of 26°C, while at night, it dips to a still pleasant average of 15°C. Both the average low and high temperatures tend to decrease in the course of September, as the weather slowly but steadily moves toward autumn. Both temperatures decrease by about 4 degrees. That being said; even at the end of September, it can still be very warm.
Sea Temperature
The sea temperature, too, remains comfortable throughout the month and averages 25°C. September is a great month to visit Sorrento, head to the beaches and try some watersports such as waterskiing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, surfing or scuba diving.
Sunshine Hours
The amount of sunshine, although significantly less than the previous two months, is still high at 10 hours per day on average.
Daylight Hours and Clouds
There are two reasons for this seemingly large drop in sunshine hoursugust had three hours of sunshine more. The first one is the decreasing day length. September 1 is the longest day of the month with 13.05 daylight hours. September 30 is much shorter with 11.47 hours of daylight. This is a decrease of 1.17 hours, which means that every day in September is 2.6 minutes shorter than the previous one. The second reason is the fact that more clouds move in throughout the month. Cloud cover increases from 27% to 36% in September.
Rainfall
As the skies get cloudier, the chance of rainfall increases. September 1 is the driest day of the month with a 26% chance that precipitation occurs; September 30 has a 35% chance of rainfall. As September is still considered to be a summer month, you may expect to experience some thunderstorms. They are observed on 51% of the days with rainfall. Moderate rain is the second most likely type of precipitation, occurring on 30% of the rainy days. Light rain and drizzle may happen as well, but are far less likely.
September receives a total of 81mm of rainfall, which is spread out over 9 days with precipitation. Although not technically in the wetter part of the year, it becomes increasingly obvious that the weather is now moving away from the glorious dry and sunny summer weather.
September is arguably the best month of the year to visit Sorrento. The temperatures of both the air and sea are still very comfortable, the huge summer crowds are gone, rainfall is still relatively low and sunshine is still relatively high.
