What's the Weather like in Singapore in September

The calendar says its autumn, but the September weather in Singapore says differently. The temperatures stay high, more like the middle of summer than heading into last part of the year. The average daily temperature this month is 27°C (around 81°F), compared to October, which has an average temperature of around 27°C (around 81°F).

During the hottest part of the day, you'll see temperatures still reaching up to 31°C (about 88°F). Like nearby Indonesia, the area sees some higher humidity, which, when combined with the warm temperatures, can make for some balmy days.

Rainfall

Fortunately, come nightfall, you'll get a break from the heat, with breezes blowing across the Java Sea. The lows drop down to 24°C (about 75°F), a great temperature for enjoying a cool drink on a bar patio or hopping from club to club. Even with that low, you probably won't need a jacket at night. During the day, bring along plenty of cooler pieces like shorts and short-sleeved shirts to stay cool. A sturdy pair of walking shoes for exploring is a good idea too.

Rainfall chances increase this month, with up to 163 mm of rain falling across the month. This area sees around 18 days of rain over September, so it's a good idea to come prepared with an umbrella or a poncho. The chance of rain on any given day is 40% and the chance of a cloudy day is 80%. Bring along the sunscreen with a high SPF as well; the high UV index can cause major sunburns.

Average Sunshine Hours

In between the clouds and the raindrops, get outside and enjoy the 9 hours of sunshine the island gets this month. That's plenty of time to get in some major sightseeing and still have time to chill next to the pool or down on the beach.

Average Sea Temperature

The average sea temperature of the Java Sea and the Singapore Strait this month is 29°C (about 84°F).
