The Cihan Pide Kebap Restaurant is wonderful if you are looking for local food as they offer mainly Turkish cuisine. This place is popular among locals and tourists alike and they serve things like high quality steaks, lentil soup, and mixed kebab. Their prices are affordable and they have a clean and simple décor that also uses wine bottles as part of the decoration. They also have outdoor seating among palm trees available. They are about a seven minute drive from the city centre.
If you are in the mood for seafood, head to the Orfoz Restaurant. They are known for their fish dishes, as "orfoz" means "fish" in Turkish. They also have other seafood options, salads, steaks, and curry dishes available, as they serve both a Turkish and international menu. They also have a variety of both local and international wines, and a selection of cocktails. Orfoz also offers a wonderful dining setting, as they have outdoor seating that overlooks the nearby harbour. They are open daily from 8 AM to 12 AM and are located within the city centre of Side.
Things to do in Side in October
Side has lots of natural beauty and the Manavgat Waterfall is the perfect example of this. The waterfall is not very high, but is beautiful nonetheless, with dark blue water that turns to white foam when it hits the falls, and is surrounded by lush, green plant life. There are areas next to the falls offering small bites and drinks, like local teas. The waterfall can be accessed either by foot, or by boat trips taking you close to the falls. Manavgat Waterfall is about a 15 minute drive from the city centre.
A great way to cool off on a hot October day is by visiting the aqua park at Water Planet. They offer a variety of options for people of all ages to enjoy. There is a 300 metre long course for rafting on artificial waves, bungee jumping from a distance of 70 metres in the air, a wave pool for relaxing and enjoying some drinks, and a kids' pool with various toys. There are also 24 different slides, from family friendly ones, to high speed ones for thrill seekers. They are usually open from 10 AM to 5 PM and they are about a 50 minute drive from the city centre.
If you enjoy golf, the Gloria Golf Club is the place for you. They are the biggest course in Turkey with 45 holes. They have two 18-hole courses, and one 9-hole course. Their "Old" course consists of holes built around pine trees and "natural foliage," created a serene environment perfect for golf. Their 18-hole courses consist of a "New" and an "Old" course. The "New" course was built in 2005 and was the host of the 2007 "European Seniors Tour Classic," and the "World Amateur Team Championship" in 2012. The club also has a driving range and offer lessons in a variety of languages. They are about an hour drive from the city centre.
