Things to do in Side in November
For a unique Side experience, check out the Pamukkale Bath. "Pamukkale" translates to "cotton castle" and you will understand why upon seeing the bath. There are several mini-pools that are lined with limestone that appear to be hanging onto the side of a mountain, creating the appearance of clouds that have been attached together. The water contained in these pools is warm and filled with natural minerals that are said to have health benefits, so be sure to bring your bathing suit when visiting the baths. The views from the baths are amazing as well. The baths are about a five and a half hour drive from the city centre, but day trips are offered to and from Side.
If you are interested in some excitement during your visit in Side, check out Jeep Safari Turkey. They offer tours through the Taurus Mountains in 4x4 jeeps and the day begins between 9 AM to 10 AM when they pick you up from your hotel. There is a break for lunch at a "riverside or cottage restaurant," and guests will be dropped back off at their hotels between 5 and 6 PM. Along the ride you will encounter local village people, mosques, the summit of Mount Taurus, and possibly even some animals. Tours are available daily.
Another way to experience the outdoors of Side is by fly fishing. There are a few options for fishing depending on your preference. There is a specially designed fishing platform on Green Lake, so that you can fly fish on this lake, without being in water over your head. There are also options to fly fish in the Alara River, or in the Taurus Mountains, although those trips are much more involved as they are further away from Side.
