Sheffield, England<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Sheffield is a city in the South of Yorkshire, Northern England. It has a mild maritime climate with four distinct seasons throughout the year and no particular extremes of weather. Sheffield does not tend to receive that much rain (despite its English location!); October receives the most rain at only 65 millimetres over 13 days of precipitation.

Summer

Summer in Sheffield is typically the warmest time of year. The months of June, July and August can have temperatures reaching up to about a warm and pleasant 18°C and average lows hitting around 11°C, so not overly cold or uncomfortable. The perfect place to spend during comfortable weather is the breathtakingly beautiful Snake Pass, whether itâs for a stroll, a bike ride or simply spent in the car.

Each month of summer typically receives 13 days of precipitation, all below 60 millimetres of rainfall, making summer a fairly dry time of year. It is probably still a good idea to bring an umbrella with you however and to check the weather forecast before your arrival.

Autumn

Autumn is a fairly pleasant time of year in Sheffield with the maximum average high temperature being at a comfortable 15°C in September. October and November draw colder however, with an average high of around 9°C. Sheffield can be a cool place throughout the autumn months with temperatures dropping to below 3°C to 9°C, so visitors are recommended to wrap up warm for their holiday there!

Because November has one snowy day in Sheffield, visitors are recommended to check the weather forecast before their arrival, in order to come prepared. At least Sheffield does not receive torrential rain at any point of the year, even in the cool autumn weather with up to 16 days of precipitation and 65 millimetres of rainfall in total each month.

Winter

Winter is, typically, the coldest season for the Yorkshire city and temperatures are unlikely to go above a chilly 6°C. The lowest temperatures tend to hang around 1°C throughout the winter months with up to 3 to 4 days of snow each month, so please remember to wrap up warm for your stay in Sheffield! At least rain is unlikely to be a problem however, with up to just 17 days of precipitation and 65 millimetres of rainfall each month. On these days, Sheffield still provides its visitors with something to do with its museums and galleries.

Spring

As spring approaches, visitors and habitants of Sheffield can look forward to warmer weather, creeping up to a cool 13°C. Temperatures can still be rather chilly however, with average low temperatures reaching below 7°C. Snow can be expected even in the early months of spring with up to 3 days of snowy days. Spring is the driest season of the year, especially with March only receiving just 47 millimetres of rain in total. Throughout the months of spring, you can only expect up to 15 days of rain â" itâs really not much, but itâs still probably better to check the weather forecast before your arrival. The not-so-perfect days in Sheffield may be spent in the shops â" you still get outside, but not for long!
