Sarigerme Beach is a tranquil beach that somehow manages to stay off the busy tourist radar. The clientele tends to consist of those who are looking for some peace and quiet. Take note that on some days, especially in the winter, the winds are quite strong. There is a small entrance fee to the beach, collected by the Sarigerme Environmental Education Association, which goes directly to beach maintenance. Though popular with tourists and locals alike, it is never too crowded. You can enjoy all the normal beach facilities like picnic tables, sun beds, umbrellas, cafes and toilets.

Yilbasi
If you are visiting Sarigerme in early January, New Years Day is known as Yilbasi. All over Turkey, people celebrate with parties that continue from New Year's Eve right into the next day.
Outdoor Activities
Due to the cooler temperatures, this is a great time of year to visit to indulge in some outdoor activities. Hiking and horse riding are popular in the area.
Dalyan
While in Sarigerme, visitors are encouraged to stop by Dalyan for a dip into its unique natural mud springs. Dalyan is famous for its natural mud and sulphur baths, renowned for their health-giving properties. To reach the baths, visitors must transfer from Dalyan into river boats through the Dalyan Delta. The film "The African Queen" (1952) was filmed in these labyrinthine waterways. The boats will take you to the far side of Lake Koycegiz, where the mud and sulphur pools lie. The mud baths are touted for their medicinal properties, supposedly good for rheumatic diseases, eczema and arthritis. In any case, a dip will certainly refresh the curious traveller. Full of nutrients and salts, swimmers are able to float without any difficulty. Visitors can also jump in the nearby sulphur spring, rich in sodium, calcium, chloride and of course sulphurhough the smell is certain to deter some. Guided tours typically include lunch, followed by a rejuvenating swim at nearby Iztuzu Beach.
