Turtle Beach
Travellers interested in wildlife should take a drive out to Iztuzu beach, a nesting place for loggerhead turtles. The beach is a 4.5 km stretch of sand near Dalyan, and is sometimes referred to by its nickname, Turtle Beach. As the loggerhead is an endangered species, Iztuzu has enjoyed national protected status since 1988. Strict regulations have been put into place to protect some 300 nests per year.
