Not far from Sarigerme, Iztuzu Beach is a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles, just a few kilometres from Dalyan. Also known as Turtle Beach, the government has imposed strict regulations over the area to protect some 300 nests per year. Tourists are encouraged to stay mindful of the rules and keep the turtles' peace. Minibuses and boats run regularly from Dalyan to the beach, though because of its distance from the city it is never crowded. The beach is lined with trees and the shallow shoreline is very suitable for small children.

Things to Do in Sarigerme in April
Festivals
Sailing enthusiasts will be in seventh heaven with the Maritime Festival and Marmaris Yacht Festival both taking place during April. The Yacht Festival features a boat race, and the Maritime Festival centres around a boat show, so you can bring your own or admire the huge number of boats around the harbour. Families can visit during the National Children's Festival, which takes place on the April 23rd. There are loads of activities including games, sports, a parade and lots of sweets to be consumed!
Villa Gokbel and other Local villages
For day trips, you can drive out to one of the local villages nearby, all about 20 minutes away by car. Gokbel, Mergenli, Karadonlar, and Fevziye, just to name a few. There is not much to do in these small towns but admire the scenery of traditional Turkish life and catch a bite at a roadside restaurant. Iberotel Sarigerme Park
In ancient times Sarigerme was known as Pisilis, and there are still old classical ruins in the Iberotel Sarigerme Park near the coast. You can spend an afternoon exploring the ancient city, its remains of Byzantine city walls and church. Archaeologists have uncovered ruins of the town centre, various buildings and graves, some dating back to the Roman period. About one fourth of the city has been covered by sand dunes.
