July is the start of the peak holiday season in Santa Susanna and has some of the best weather seen in the region all year.

Millions of visitors come to Santa Susanna in July to enjoy the hottest month of the year, which also boasts the most sunshine hours throughout the month.

What's The Weather Like In Santa Sussanna In July

Sunshine Hours

Up to 13 hours of daily sunshine are expected in Santa Susanna in July, ensuring the days are long and warm. Average highs of 29°C provide a beautiful climate throughout the month, perfect for the alfresco dining, beach fun and water activities that Santa Susanna is so famous for.

Temperature

Back in 1996, record temperatures of 39°C were recorded during July in Santa Susanna. But, thanks to the off shore breeze from the sea and the winds from the Pyrenees, most people would consider the heat tolerable.

Usually temperatures will average 23°C in July. And while this is cooler than the Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Majorca, it still offers a wonderful climate for everyone.

Sea Temperature

For those that want to enjoy the beach, Sea Temperatures reach a warmth that is only second to August in the scale of the warmest sea temperatures in Santa Susanna. And as they average approximately 24°C throughout July, no one is likely to consider the sea cold.

Rain

Rain is also not an issue during the hottest month of the year in this region. July is the driest month of the year in Santa Susanna, ensuring that humidity is never an issue when the core heat arrives.

In July only 7 days of the month are likely to experience any rain. And with only 38mm expected for the entire month, any precipitation that does fall is likely to be in the form of late showers, usually in the middle of the night.

This is a fabulous time to enjoy this part of Spain and the reason so many people choose to visit.

Santa Susanna Hotels In July

FERGUS Style Mar Mediterrania

While Santa Susanna is very popular with families, the adults only FERGUS Style Mar Mediterrania is the ideal place to stay for those that want a more adult-themed holiday. The rooms are modern and well maintained, so too are the public areas. And because it's adults only around the pool as well, there are far more grown-up style activities going on. The cocktails are lethal, the atmosphere is fun and the staff are full of enthusiasm. Even the night time entertainment is not to be missed. The hotel is also ideally located for the beach, bars and restaurants and even the train station. The only problem with staying at the FERGUS Style Mar Mediterrania is that you may not want to leave.

Thalassa Apartments

Located next to the Tahiti Playa hotel, the Thalassa Apartments offer all the benefits of cost effective self-catering accommodation, but with the benefit of being able to use the facilities of the hotel next door. Rather than having to walk in through the front of the lobby, there is a short cut from the apartments to the hotel's pool. And you are more than welcome to use the bars, pool table and table tennis facilities as well. At the apartments, the rooms are compact but well equipped, and there are lots of local amenities close by. It's the ideal way to stay within budget, even on a peak July holiday, but still have the facilities of a top quality hotel.

Can Roisch

Can Roisch is one of only a few B&B's in Santa Susanna. But it is definitely a fabulous place to stay. This working farm is approximately 2 miles from the main strip in Santa Susanna and therefore offers the perfect combination of beach holiday and an idyllic get away. Be welcomed by owners Mateu and Montserrat as if you were family, and be treated as if you were all through your stay. Enjoy homemade meals, exceptional standards of cleanliness and beautiful views of the valley across the sea. For outstanding service, beautiful tranquillity and easy access to the Costa Brava, why stay anywhere else?

Santa Susanna Beaches For July

Playa de Llevante

Playa de Llevante is the biggest beach in Santa Susanna, and the most popular. Running almost the entire stretch of the region, this beach earned its Blue Flag for cleanliness in 2012 and has been proud to fly it ever since. Parents do need to take care as the waves can get a bit choppy at Playa de Llevante and the drop in the sea is very close to the shore. But with a wealth of amenities on the beach itself and plenty to entertain guests of any age, you soon realise why everyone flocks to Playa de Llevante.

Bars And Restaurants

La Caleta Casa Manolo

Rather than being part of a hotel, La Caleta Casa Manolo is an independent restaurant in Santa Susanna with a very personable atmosphere. The food is good and full of flavour. Try the Paella or the Curry for two outstanding dishes. Your hosts will welcome you with open arms, giving you a feeling of belonging before you even sit down. For lunch try the tapas sat on the sun terrace overlooking the sea. Or book a table for an evening meal that is sure to come with a few well priced drinks. With families of all ages welcome, everyone walks away from La Caleta Casa Manolo feeling very happy indeed.

La Pèrgola

When you want a touch of Mexican, the place to go in Santa Susanna has to be La Pèrgola. Attached to the Aqua Onabrava Hotel, this eatery has a great atmosphere, authentic flavours and incredible prices. You could almost feel that you are in Mexico itself. Only this time you will be enjoying your meal in the North of Spain with a cool beer in your hand. Overlook the beautiful blue sea while you enjoy tacos, nachos and other Mexican delights. With plenty of outdoor shaded area, the July sun might not be too hot, but have a few too many chillies on your fajitas and you may get more than you bargained for.

Drunken Duck Pub

Ask anyone where the best place to drink is in Santa Susanna, and most will say the Drunken Duck Pub. This is probably the most popular bar in the entire resort, and is favoured by locals and visitors alike. From early morning breakfast through to drinks until the early hours of the next day, the Drunken Duck is always open for business. And with a Newcastle theme to reflect the Landlord's style, it has a fabulous sense of humour too. Watch live football streamed into the pub or enjoy some traditional home cooked food. The prices are good, the portions are excellent. But if you want a seat in the restaurant in July, you will have to book. Everyone wants to eat here.
