What's the weather like in Santa Ponsa in September?

The glorious summer weather continues in September in Santa Ponsa and in MajorcaSpain. The climate remains hot and sunny throughout the month. There is, however, a slight dip in temperatures following the peak Mediterranean heat of July and August, making the climate far more pleasant and bearable. This is still high season in Santa Ponsa, so you will see some crowds on the beach. Make sure you protect your skin with a decent SPF and stay out of the sun during the hottest hours of the day to prevent sunburn.

Temperature

The average temperature in September is a very comfortable 21°C. Although it's a four-degree drop compared with August, it is still perfect weather to hit the beach. September is the fourth-warmest month of the year, after August, July and June. Those four months are also the only months that experience a daily average temperature that's above 20°C. In September, the evening and nights are pleasantly warm with an average temperature of 16°C. The afternoon temperatures are still hot and average 26°C. Both the low and high temperatures decrease in the course of the month. September the 1st is the warmest day of the month with a nighttime low of 18°C and a daytime high of 29°C; September 30 is the coolest day with a low of 15°C and a high of 25°C. The Mediterranean Sea is warmer than the air temperature in September. The sea temperature averages 25°C, only one degree below the annual maximum of 26°C in August. The sea will remain warm enough to swim through October.

Rain

Although the temperatures remain warm to hot, September sees a huge spike in rainfall. The total amount of rainfall is 50mm, spread out over 5 days. Santa Ponsa Beach in September

Measuring no less than 1.5 kilometres long and 100 metres wide, Santa Ponsa Beach is the main beach in the resort. This huge beach consists of soft golden sand and blue water and its high standard is reflected in its Blue Flag status and prestigious Q Award. A beautiful promenade separates the beach from the pine woods, hills and accommodations behind. Facilities include a tourist information office, toilets, showers, a first-aid centre, beach bars, restaurants and shops.

Bars and Restaurants

The Crown Bar is one of the oldest British bars in Santa Ponsa. It's located only a ten-minute walk from the town centre in 'the Square'. From May to October, there's a kids' show in the early evening and an artist or band later at night. This is the place to go for a casual drink, to watch British shows on TV, watch sports and participate in quizzes.

Another popular bar is the Scottish Corner. This fun restaurant has plenty of things to keep children occupied, such as a bouncy castle and ridesnd the breakfasts are amazing.

For a delicious burger visit Boston O'Brady's, the cowboy burger is a popular choice at this American style restaurant. There are vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options on offer here. The family friendly restaurant serves mains such as steak, ribs and the 'man vs food' challenge is always a fun one to try if you are extra hungry and feeling brave. 

No 8 Bar & Grill are popular for their yummy nachos and sweet desserts. The modern bar and grill provides a chilled out environment, with a wonderful selection of food. Try the gourmet burgers and appreciate the home-made salsa and healthy options on the menu. The restaurant live by the moto 'healthy eating, positive living' and this is reflected in the main dishes and childrens menu. Outdoor seating, high chairs, wheelchair access and delivery are all perks of this place. 

Things to do in Santa Ponsa in September

After you've spend several days on the beach, you might want to do something different for a change. So what about a hot air balloon ride? There really is nothing better than going on an early morning hot air balloon excursion over Majorca. Seeing the gorgeous landscape of the island, with its coastline, mountains and tiny villages, will without a doubt be a travel experience that you'll remember for the rest of your life.

Santa Ponsa is also an excellent resort for all those people who want to play golf whilst on their holiday. The area has three major golf courses that provide excellent facilities. A round of golf in Spain is bound to be an enjoyable experience, as you can put away in the glorious summer sunshine. Beginners can enjoy a game too, with qualified instructors to provide lessons.
