Things to Do
Take a day trip to one of the other fingers of the Halkidiki peninsula and visit Mount Athos. Plan ahead though; you must get a permit to visit and preference is given to Orthodox Christians.
Found just outside the town of Polychrono, on the western side of the Kassandra peninsula, Polychrono Lake is a picturesque place to visit during your February holiday to Sani. The lake is surrounded by pine trees, creating shade for visitors enjoying the natural blue waters. It's also a sanctuary of sorts for a special type of water turtle, the Testudinata Turtle, and you can see plenty playing and swimming around in the water.
Eating and Drinking Out
While its menu includes mostly Greek favourites, you can also enjoy other cuisine at PetraFlora in Afitos. The pizzeria and snack bar serves up traditional Italian-style pizzas, cooked over a wood-fired grill. You can also get pasta dishes, fresh salads, and tasty desserts. The restaurant is family-friendly, with plenty of outdoor dining spaces to enjoy the beautiful weather.
With its exposed stone exterior and bright blue shutters, Strouboulis in Afitos exudes old-world charm and romance. Diners can eat their meals under the shade of a huge orange tree right in the middle of the outdoor dining patio. The menu includes lots of Greek and Mediterranean favorites including grilled octopus, red snapper, and several green salads. You'll get great value with the large portions and affordable prices too.
