What's the Weather like in Samana in March

The semi-tropical climate of Samana in the Dominican Republic ensures that the area enjoys idyllic beach weather throughout the year, with reliably guaranteed high temperatures and hours of sunshine, no matter what time of year it is. That being said, however; the high levels of humidity that arrive with the summer season can send temperatures shooting up to uncomfortable peaks. In the winter and the month of March, the humidity drops and with it the heat, making for an even more pleasant destination.

Temperature

With an average temperature of 25°C, March is definitely a comfortable month (the same temperature is also observed in February and December, while all the other months are only slightly cooler or warmer). In the nighttime, the temperature doesn't fall below the average low of 20°C. In the afternoon, the warmest time of the day, the mercury hits an average high of 29°C. Those two average temperatures tend to increase slightly as the month progresses, by one to two degrees each.

The sea water temperature is 26°C on average now, which is actually the annual minimum sea temperaturehe Caribbean waters are delightful all-year round.

Rainfall

There can still be some wet weather at this time of the year and the odd tropical storm is not uncommon. However, rest assured that while these showers may be heavy, they don't last for long and you will soon be enjoying more of that fantastic, hot and sunny weather once again. In fact, March is one of the driest months of the whole year, receiving no more than 32mm of rainfall. Only February is drier, but only marginally. There are 8 days with some kind of precipitation, the main types of which are moderate rain and light, respectively occurring on 47% and 43% of those days with rainfall. Thunderstorms happen on 10% of those days. The chance that rainfall occurs on any given day ranges between 27% and 32% throughout March.

Average Sunshine Hours

In terms of sunshine, March enjoys 8 hours of sunshine per day on average.
