Things to do in Salou in January
Avenida Jaume I
There's something for everyone on Avenida Jaume I. Beautiful ornate buildings neighbour souvenir shops. Hungry travelers can fill up on something quick from McDonald's or sit down at a steakhouse. The Jaume I monument towers over Salou's main promenade, celebrating the date of 5 September 1229 when King Jaume I commanded a Catalan fleet to conquer Majorca. Opposite the attractions, a tree-lined beach follows the road. This side of the Jaume features the Ornamental Fountains which run the entire length of the promenade. There are three main fountains to enjoy; the Cybernetic Fountains dance to music at selected show times and feature lights, the Labyrinth has water jets and sprays for the whole family to enjoy and the Luminous Fountain plays over 210 combinations of water and lights choreography.
The Paseo Maritimo
If you're ready to enjoy a beautiful walk on the pier, head to The Paseo Maritimo. This attraction runs parallel with the Avenida Juame and the beach and a visit here is the perfect way to end your day. The Paeso is lined with fountains and leads to the harbor. Although walkers may have to share their stroll with cyclists and rollerbladers, the view makes it well worth it. This is a must-see when you're in Salou no matter what time of year.
