Cala de la Font is said to be even nicer than the main beaches. In the height of the summer season, you'll want to avoid the crowds. This cove is perfect for just that. It's accessible by taxi (but not bus). There are no toilet facilities but showers are available and there is a café that overlooks the beach and serves food. The water is shallow, making it kid-friendly, for quite a ways out.

Aquapolis

While the weather is this warm, you'll want to visit Aquapolis. Whether you're seeking an adrenaline rush or just looking to spend the day in the water, this park is for you. Visit the children's areas for kids under 10 and enjoy free admission for children under 90cm. Swim with the sea lions, encounter the dolphins, or learn more about them in the educational programme. Adults who need a break can visit the VIP area. You can lie in the sun reading a book, chatting with others, or listening to music. When you get hungry, there's a variety of dining options at Aquapolis and the Aquópolis shop provides you with everything you need to spend the day in the water park.

Torre Vella

Built in 1530 by Archbishop of Tarragona Pere Cardona, The Old Tower, or Torre Vella, was aimed to protect and warn the city of pirate attacks and looting. Today, Vella de Salou is an art center devoted primarily to the painting exhibition. The tower retains its original exterior with the badge of Pere de Cardona on its façade. New "points" that connect the two buildings were added in the twentieth century. August hours are from 19h to 22h. Admission is free.
