October sees temperatures continue to decline in Saint Tropez as the summer season draws to a close. Daytime temperatures can still reach a pleasant high of 21°C (69°F) and tend to fall no lower than 13°C (55°F) in the evenings.
Although there is still 7 hours of sunshine each day, October can be fairly wet with an average of 100m of rainfall.
However, on a clear day you can still head down to one of Saint Tropez's many beaches and enjoy a stroll along the sand. Boat tours also provide a unique way to experience the stunning coast line.
Away from the beach, you can explore the local area on horseback from a horse riding centre located at the foot of Grimaud Castle.
Night life in Saint Tropez is still very vibrant in the winter months, with two casinos and a huge array of bars and restaurants to choose from.
A visit to Saint Tropez would not be complete without a spot of shopping! The best boutiques are around Place de la Garonne, Rue Al-lard and Rue Gambetta.
Accommodation does begin to get cheaper at this time of year, although the best deals are snapped up fairly quickly and you could still end up paying a premium.
Basic accommodation can be found at Hotel le Mandala, which is a five minute walk from the port area. Features include air conditioned rooms with flat screen televisions and an outdoor pool with sun terrace.
The Dune Hotel is located close to the beach and 15 minutes walk from the centre of Saint Tropez. A continental breakfast is served daily and you can also enjoy the spa and sauna on-site, which offer a range of treatments.
