July is the hottest, driest month of the year in Saint Tropez and is the height of the summer season. As such, it is packed with holiday makers.
Daytime temperatures now reach a very warm high of 27°C (80°F) and only fall to 18°C (65°F) at night.
There is very little chance of rain and the sun shines for a whopping 12 hours each day. This means you will probably be spending most of your time on the beach.
Pampelonne Beach is the best known in the area. There are miles of golden sand and many amenities conveniently situated alongside it, such as toilets, showers, cafes and restaurants. You can also try your hand at some water sports such as wind surfing or scuba diving!
For a unique way to enjoy the scenic coastline, you can also take a boat tour around the bay.
Golf is especially popular in the area, and you can tee off at courses such as the Gassin Golf Country Club or the Vernatelle.
Accommodation can be astronomically expensive at this time of year, however, basic hotels can be found in the area.
Les Maisons du Sud offers a range of studios and apartments, and is ideally situated for access to Pampelonne Beach.
Hotel La Romarine is excellent for golf lovers as the Gassin Golf Country Club is a ten minute drive away. Central Saint Tropez is 1.5km away and the resort itself features 4 tennis courts and a swimming pool, situated in gardens lined with olive and palm trees.
The Dune Hotel is just 200m from the beach and 15 minute walk from the centre of Saint Tropez. Set in a wooded park, a continental breakfast is served on the terrace among the palm trees, and you can also enjoy a trip to the on-site spa and sauna.
