What's the weather like in Sa Coma in May?

May begins to not only usher in much warmer conditions in and around Sa Coma, but also the drier summer period. While this month is still officially in the spring season, rain amounts and rain days are significantly lower than the previous months. As a result, this may be one of the best months to visit the region thanks to warmer and drier weather and a chance to beat the crowds before they descend on Spain and the island starting in the next month.

Sea Temperature

While the water during the month is still too cold for most people to take a dip, some may decide to take a chance for a short period of time or with the help of a wetsuit. Average water temperatures for this time of the year average 18°C (64°F). However, the region does see an average of 11 hours of sunshine each day for the month. As a result, it is possible to pack some sunscreen and enjoy getting some rays while lounging on the beach.

Beaches in Sa Coma in May

Cala Santanyi

This is the first month of the year when visitors can enjoy the beaches of the region as water temperatures have finally climbed to 18°C (64°F). While this may be too cold for some, it is manageable with a wetsuit. Located down the road from Sa Coma is Cala Santanyi with fine sand, rocky cliffs and pine forests. The beach itself is 70 meters long and 100 meters deep with plenty of room for visitors to spread out. With a shallow and calm sea, it is the perfect spot for small children and those looking to float about or do some snorkelling when the sea warms up.
