April in Roses

Being there for the complete month of April I experienced cold, warm,hot,dry and wet weather in Roses. This time of the year,as is October by experience a changeable climate always struggling to be good to the visitor but sometimes not quite making it. I have to admit that I go there up to four times a year and love the area.
Holiday
Great ! The people are always friendly and helpful. However, do not expect them to automatically understand or speak english.
You have to remember that this area of Spain has not really been discovered by the Brits, but been visited for years by the French and of course Spanish people from other areas.
Catalan is their first language followed by Castillian. French comes next followed by the German language. English comes after that.
It really is an advantage to be able to discover the delights of this area to learn a little Castillian. It really brings out the best in the residents of Roses and it opens up the opportunity for using out of the way bars and restaurants where you can cut your budget on food and drink by up to a third easily.
Nightlife out of the top season does not really exist if you are looking for a lively time. Just be happy with dining and drinking in the many bars and restaurants in the area.
The beach and promenade are excellent.Recommend Roses to others?
