Things to Do in Reykjavik in October

The Secret Lagoon

The Secret Lagoon is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes drive from Reykjavik and isn't as secret as it used to be, due to lots of tourists finding out about it. The natural hot springs are located in the small village called Fludir, in the Golden Circle area. It has been kept natural and unique for guests so they can get the true Icelandic feeling. The pool's natural surroundings and steam rising into the air gives the place a magical feeling. The warm water stays at around 38-40°C all year round. In the whole area there are several geothermal spots and a little Geysir which erupts every 5 minutes. 

Skogafoss Waterfall

Skogafoss Waterfall is 2 hours from Reykjavik and is worth the traveling, espeically if you're planning to spend the whole day there. Seeing a waterfall up close is always a breathtaking experience as it isn't something you see everyday. Make sure you wrap up warm for your trip to Skogafoss and don't forget your camera.

Arbaer Open Air Museum

Arbaer Open Air Museum has more than 20 building that form a town square, village and a farm. Most of the buildings have been relocated from central Reykjavik. A free entrance to the museum is included in the Reykjavik City Card if you're planning on buying one of these. Inside the museum you'll get a sense of old Reykjavik and how it used to be in the past. Enjoy the events and exhibitions held at the Museum, highlighting the history of the place.
